Yearpop legal
Privacy Policy
Effective 9 September 2026
1. Who we are
Yearpop is operated by Bernardo Ramada. This Privacy Policy explains how Yearpop handles personal information when you use the Yearpop mobile application (the "App") or contact us. Questions can be sent to support@yearpop.com.
2. The short version
Yearpop is currently a local-first app. It does not require an account, and we do not operate a backend that receives your events. We do not currently use analytics, advertising trackers, profiling tools, or third-party crash-reporting services in the App.
Your event information stays in the App's storage on your device unless you choose to share it, send us an email, or your device or platform handles it through features outside Yearpop's control.
3. Event information
The App stores information you enter for events, such as titles, dates, recurrence settings, emojis, colors, and creation or update timestamps, in a local database on your device. The App may also maintain an automatic JSON backup in its local application storage so it can attempt to restore your events. Yearpop does not receive this information.
Local data and backups may be included in device-level backups or migrations depending on your operating-system and Apple settings. Those platform features are controlled by you and the relevant platform provider, not by Yearpop.
4. Sharing events
When you choose to share an event, the App creates a visual asset and opens your device's system share sheet. You decide which app, service, or recipient receives it. Yearpop does not receive the shared asset, but the destination you select may process it under its own privacy policy. Review the preview and recipient before sharing.
5. Feedback and support
If you choose Share feedback or Contact support, Yearpop opens your email app with a draft addressed to us. If you send it, we receive the information in your email, which may include your email address, name, message, Yearpop app version, and device model.
We use this information to respond, troubleshoot, protect the App, and improve Yearpop. We process it because you asked us to respond, because it is necessary for our legitimate interests in supporting and improving the App, or because applicable law requires it. Your email provider and ours also process the message under their own terms and policies.
6. Information we do not currently collect
The current App does not create user accounts, collect payment or subscription information, serve advertising, sell personal information, track you across other companies' apps or websites, or send your event data to Yearpop analytics or cloud servers.
Apple independently processes information related to downloading, installing, purchasing, diagnosing, and using its platform and the App Store. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's policies and settings.
7. Retention and deletion
Event information remains on your device until you delete it, remove the App, erase its data, or your device or operating system removes it. When an event is deleted in Yearpop, the current local backup is updated to remove it. We cannot restore event information that was never sent to us.
We retain feedback and support correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to answer you, maintain support history, improve and secure the App, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. Retention may vary depending on the nature of the request.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the current local-first design, but no device, storage system, email service, or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device with available security controls and avoid placing highly sensitive information in event titles or shared assets.
9. International processing
Your device, email provider, chosen sharing destination, Apple, or other service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Their safeguards and transfer mechanisms are governed by their own policies and applicable law.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or an objection to our processing of personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. You may contact support@yearpop.com to exercise a right concerning information Yearpop actually holds, such as support correspondence.
You control locally stored event information directly through the App and your device. Because Yearpop does not receive that information, we generally cannot access, correct, export, or delete it for you.
11. Children
Yearpop is intended only for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a person under that age has sent personal information to us, contact support@yearpop.com so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Yearpop's features, data practices, legal obligations, or business arrangements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. Material additions such as accounts, cloud sync, analytics, advertising, subscriptions, or new personal-data collection will require this policy to be reviewed before release.
